Upcoming Marine Events

Centerboard Yacht Club is holding a sailboat Regatta on August 3, 2019, beginning at 1100 hrs/11:00 a.m. until about 1700 hrs/5:00 p.m. This Regatta will involve most of Portland Harbor. For more information call (207) 570-2516

SwimRun USA is holding a race on August 11, 2019, beginning at 0630 hrs/6:30 a.m. This is the 4th consecutive year. It is a Casco Bay Islands event with running and swimming. For further information call 207-956-3099.

The Stroudwater Village Association will hold a Regatta, Race and Parade on the Fore River on August 17, 2019; from 1:00 p.m. til 3:00 p.m. For more details call: (207) 831-2482.

The National M. S. Society will hold a race on August 18, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. til 3:00 p.m. The race will feature 5 tugboats and about 75 lobster boats straight racing in Anchorage “B” of Portland Harbor. No rain date. For more details call Walter Russell at (917) 880-2914.

All of the following laws and regulations have either been passed by the Maine legislature or adopted by the Commissioner of Inland Fisheries & Wildlife. The following rules/laws are intended to be used only as a guide for boating, and in some cases, the laws and rules have been summarized. Harbor Regulations 

The following Rules of the Commission for the Harbor of Portland (hereinafter "Rules") are supplementary to the provisions of P. & S.L. 1981, c. 98, and P. & S. Law 1993, c. 34, as amended, the act establishing the Commissioners (hereinafter collectively the "Act")[1], as it relates to the authority of the Commissioners for Portland Harbor, and are adopted pursuant to the authority granted under Section 6 (Rulemaking).
